US Navy Chief Petty Officer’s Guide

Yes, you read that right!

My friend, Hugh Rambo (yes his last name is Rambo!), let me borrow his copy of the Chief Petty Officer’s Guide that is the official handbook for both aspiring and old salt CPOs – Chief Petty Officers. For you non-military folks the CPO is the highest non-commissioned person in the US Navy. A first level commissioned officer is an ensign in the Navy and a 2nd lieutenant in the Marines, Army and Air Force. Not sure if the coast Guard is an ensign or lieutenant.

Today we are returning to another type of FITNESS – FISCAL fitness and recently I discovered one of the BEST MUST read books on that subject – Soul Currency by Ernest Chu. Ernest has a very interesting background as he is a former 30 year veteran of Wall Street including being an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange, an investment banking executive and a capital markets expert. He is also a very ssuccessful serial entrepreneur having been on the founding executive team of NINE companies and raising over $150,000,000 for these companies and other clients.

I believe that the Centers for Disease Control has the right solution – a good BRISK walk or riding your bike at a BRISK pace. My friend, Dee, is actually in charge of promoting walking and biking at CDC. Research has shown that either one will be enough to get you in the aerobic zone.
